Hurda Party is a very traditional community-building activity in Maharashtra. Naturally, it involves the idea of getting people together and doing many activities around eating Hurda. Corporate outings or offsites are usually done at common places having very common agendas. We thought of mixing it with the traditional & natural Team Building Activity which is Hurda Party. Here we are trying to break the stereotype by keeping the gist of both activities intact.
Hurda is nothing but corns of Sorghum or Jowar roasted/barbequed on hot coal ashes. . Once upon a time, it was a delicacy of the rural people, but in modern times, urban people are crazier for that. When the month of December approaches, Jowar ears get ready for plucking, and this is also the time to snack on the unique preparation known as Hurda. It is indeed one of the best agricultural treasures of Maharashtra. followed by the Get together of the farmers for various reasons including the celebration of traditional crop harvesting, showing gratitude to the god and nature as well as socializing, promote team building, imbibe sharing and caring into the culture and generations to stay strong and grow together. This idea of coming together eventually took a shape of a party and got initiated into its manifestation in and around Maharashtra as the “Hurda Party” levels It is said that the taste and flavor of Hurda get doubled when you enjoy it in the riverside fields or outskirt. It is not an item that should be eaten in the house.
